Xiaohu Zhao
Xiaohu Zhao is a PhD candidate at Monash University with a background in clinical medicine, gastrointestinal surgery, and translational biomedical research. Trained as a medical doctor at Kunming Medical University, Xiaohu completed both undergraduate and master's degrees in medicine, including rotations across major hospital departments and hands-on surgical training with over 200 gastrointestinal procedures. His research spans from systematic reviews of clinical nutrition guidelines to molecular studies on intestinal barrier repair, with first-author publications in journals such as Clinical Nutrition, Cell Communication and Signaling, and iScience. Currently, Xiaohu’s doctoral research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of gastric disease progression, integrating computational analysis and organoid models to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets, aiming to translate findings from bench to bedside in gastrointestinal health.
